Common questions

Ask us anything

01 What are clubhouse hours?

Deep Water Bay is open 07:00–21:45 daily. Emerald Bay is open 09:00–19:00 on weekdays and 09:00–20:00 on weekends and public holidays. Restaurant and programme times may differ — check the day’s notice board or Contact page.

02 Is there parking?

Deep Water Bay has no on-site parking — use metered public parking at the nearby beach. Emerald Bay has limited free member parking (display a Victoria Recreation Club pass). Guests must reserve weekend and holiday parking in advance with the office.

03 How do I join?

Apply through the membership office. A HK$135 application fee applies. Entrance fees start at HK$75,000 (Associate) and HK$45,000 (Sporting). See Membership & Rules for the full fee table and house rules.

04 Can I bring guests?

Yes. Sign them in and remain with them on Club premises. Guest fees are usually HK$60 for adults and HK$30 for children. Members are responsible for their guests’ conduct and any charges.

05 Are dogs allowed?

No. Pets are not permitted on Club premises (clubhouse, grounds, or beach), except trained service dogs. Please leave pets at home when visiting either clubhouse.

06 How do I book a BBQ?

Book in advance with the clubhouse. Deep Water Bay is HK$120 and Emerald Bay is HK$180, including charcoal, in three-hour slots (max 12 persons per table). Cancel or change through the same clubhouse contact.

07 Who may use Emerald Bay as a community group?

Eligible schools, subvented NGOs, uniformed groups, and recognised National Sports Associations under Home Affairs Department private recreational lease guidance. See Community & Partnerships for eligible outside body access and how to book.

08 Can I use Club boats or boards?

Members may rent kayaks, family canoes, and prone boards without certification. SUP, surf ski, OC1, and board rowing require club certification. Guests must meet the same rules and sign waivers. See the Step-by-Step Guide for check-out steps.

09 How do I contact the office?

Main office: +852 2178 2221 / +852 2178 2222 or info@vrc.com.hk. Emerald Bay clubhouse: +852 2792 2721. Community opening-up bookings start at enquiry@vrc.com.hk.

10 Is there Wi‑Fi for members?

Yes — both clubhouses offer complimentary member Wi‑Fi. Ask reception for the current password. Guest access may be limited during busy weekends and events.
